It may sound obvious but knowing the game is the first step towards winning.
The most knowledgeable players are the ones that win. You don’t need to be an expert, but before you try a new game it doesn’t hurt to have a basic understanding of what’s ahead. Over time you will develop your own strategy and of course, practice will make perfect!

The way towards winning is to manage your money effectively. To be your best it’s advisable not to play when tired, hungry or distracted.
Consider having a short rest from the games if you’ve had some tough beats and are letting them affect you emotionally. You can always try again another day.
Vary your game. If one game isn’t working for you switch to another, or try a different strategy. Remember, casino games are based on luck so what may not work today may hit the big one for you tomorrow!

One of the most commonly asked questions by casino players is how do I know when a Slots game will pay out?
Unfortunately, the answer is that there is no answer! Slot games are run by a system called RNG, Random Number Generator, which does just as the name suggests: it randomly determines the results.
There is no way to know when a jackpot will hit and it is certainly not determined by when it last paid out. It is up to you to play as you wish, and only as long as you are enjoying it.
The Millionaire Genie jackpot has topped the million-dollar mark this month, and there is only one thing that’s certain about Slot games:
You’ve got to be in it to win it!

Being a professional casino player sounds very glamorous, and with some care and skill it can be possible.
If you’re any good at casino games, you will need a steady bankroll balance to fall back on as a support through occasional times of need.
Capitalize on the bonuses and comps casinos give you – join the promotions, increase your deposits in order to be rewarded in loyalty comps, and take part in events that will earn you extra cash.
Develop your skills by reading up on the games and mastering your strategy. Time is needed to perfect a skill, but keep at it as practice makes perfect!

Wondering what all the fuss is about? Online poker is exploding, so here’s some help to perfect your poker play, or give you the confidence to try it out for the first time.
When to hold and when to fold?
One of the biggest mistakes poker players can make is holding onto their cards longer than they should by thinking they have a better hand than they do or hoping one will soon come up.
It is helpful to know some basic strategies that apply, depending on the hand you hold and the cards on the table.

Video Poker is one of the better casino games to play as the house edge is quite low, and with some practice and basic knowledge of the payout structure, it can be a very high paying game that is easy to win.
If you are new to Video Poker, try Jacks or Better first, as most of the other games are variations on this. Check our game instructions at www.888.com under the ‘Help’ section for more assistance.

How to win big? Contributing to a progressive jackpot will put you in the best position for a huge win. The more you can add to the running jackpot the better the chance of winning it will be, so where possible always add maximum coins..
And remember, the larger the jackpot, the longer it has been since last paying out, so the big one could be just around the corner!

This is just one of many playing tips that might help you once you get started.
If you’re planning to play Craps, for example, it pays to research the best odds in advance as bets range from those with a stronger house advantage to those with a lesser advantage.
Start with easier wagers like the ‘Pass Line’ bets and back them up with the ‘Odds’ bets. There are very low house advantages on these bets, (0% on Odds bets for example).

This is just one of many playing tips that might help you once you get started.
If you’re planning to play Pai Gow Poker, for example, you need the strongest possible ‘High’ and ‘Low’ hands to win.
For example, if you have two pairs, take the lowest value pair for the ‘Low’ hand. The principle is not to assume the two lowest cards from your seven should always be the Low hand.
You still want to win them both so look for the highest possible ‘Low’ option.

This is just one of many playing tips that might help you once you get started.
If you’re playing Caribbean Poker, for example, a common mistake is that most players don’t bet on low pairs like twos, threes, fours and strong ace-high combinations thinking they have no chance of winning.
But doing this means you are instantly giving up your ante without even knowing what the dealer has and can be more costly in the long term.

If you’re not a big Baccarat fan, for example, you may not know that this is actually one of the best games in the Casino for the bettor. To increase your chances, a general tip is to avoid ‘tie’ bets as the odds against them winning are slimmer than the odds for the player’s or the banker’s hand.

If you’re playing BlackJack, for example, and your hand total is 17, should the dealer show an 8 or higher, DO NOT (contrary to popular belief) ‘hit’ to have a fighting chance. This theory would have been good if card counting was practical but since in Casino-on-Net we fairly shuffle every hand, we advise that you ‘stand’ and let the dealer bust himself instead!

“Hi Mike, I love Roulette and know that I can cover different parts of the board with different types of bets to increase my chances of winning. Which bet types do you recommend?”
Well, Des, there are many good combination bets. For example, in our ‘Dozen Bet’ you can place your bet in one of the boxes marked "1st12", "2nd12", or "3rd12", each covering twelve numbers of the board and in our ‘Column Bet’ you can select 12 numbers by placing your chip in one of three boxes marked "2 to 1" on the short side of the Roulette table marking all twelve numbers above it (excluding 0). The pay-off on both these types of combination bets is 2-1.

Casino-on-Net's Pai Gow Poker is an exciting game of skill, which fuses the ancient Chinese game of Pai Gow (meaning: "makes nine") and modern Poker.
The game is played with a total of 53 cards which includes a Joker. A Joker can be used either as an Ace or to complete a Straight, Flush or Straight Flush.
Through time, variations of these simple ‘50/50’ chance games developed and obtained their own particular rules and strategies growing in popularity throughout the ‘new world’.
In Pai Gow Poker, the player competes, one on one, against the dealer. The object of the game is for the player to arrange seven dealt cards into two hands:
The first hand, consisting of 5 cards, is referred to as the "High Hand", as it must have the highest value of the two hands. The second hand, which consists of the remaining two cards, is referred to as the "Low Hand".
The goal of Pai Gow Poker is to beat both of the dealer's hands, according to the standard Poker hand values rules.
If both hands beat the dealer's hands, the player receives "even money" on their bet (minus a 5% house commission). If both of the player's hands lose against the dealer's hands, the dealer takes the player's bet. If only one of the player's two hands win, the round results in a tie or "Push".

This edition we are looking at the popularity of gaming!
In most countries around the world, there is always some form of gaming you can get involved in.
Playing games of chance is universal and modern wagering has its roots in the old lotteries of Europe dating from the 15th Century. These games of chance, often found at fairs and festivals, were quickly adopted by both the poor (who had little to forfeit and everything to gain) and the rich (who could afford it whatever the outcome and were mainly looking for a good source of entertainment).
Through time, variations of these simple ‘50/50’ chance games developed and obtained their own particular rules and strategies growing in popularity throughout the ‘new world’.
With the arrival of such games as Poker, BlackJack and Craps, the popularity of gaming soared further and ‘resorts’ became established.
Today, of course, Nevada, which was the first U.S. state to legalize online gaming, is considered the casino capital of the world thanks to the legend that is Las Vegas. Atlantic City soon followed and now online gaming is a past-time that people of all ages from all walks of life can enjoy.

This edition we are looking at the history of Roulette!
Alisa. N, from Finland, writes: “Hello Mike, I always thought that Roulette was the oldest casino game in the world but someone told me it’s a hybrid of other games. Is this true?”
Well Alisa, today Roulette is the oldest casino game still in existence but your friend is correct. In reality it is the ‘modern’ version of two much older games, namely Hoca and E-O which were popular in Europe for almost a century before Roulette appeared.
Hoca was the continental European game consisting of 40 cupped stationary wheels. The ball was propelled by a special sling and dropped into numbered pockets. However, with three marked 0s, the house edge was rather too generous and, along with suspicions that the ball could be controlled in some way, led to its downfall.
By around 1765, Roulette was becoming the major game in Paris, France promoted (interestingly) by Police officials looking for a ‘clean’ version of Hoca.
E-O (which stands for ‘Even’ and ‘Odd) was most popular in Britain and also consisted of a wheel with 40 cups: 20 E and 20 O. The Management ‘barred’ one E and one O with some more unscrupulous operators barring two of each to double the house edge.
However, it wasn’t the house edge that led to its demise, but the number of French refugees coming to England following the Revolution in 1789 and bringing Roulette with them.

“Mike, I really love your Roulette Race but I am bad - really bad! - at making bets. Roulette for me is a complete guessing game! Please tell me the basics.”
Well Emma, Roulette actually has a very wide variety of bets with countless possibilities - winning possibilities! – the maximum bet odds being 35 to 1. At these odds, it is no doubt an excitement and suspense filled game!
In fact, I can remember sitting on a Roulette table with a friend who said “Roulette is like a suspense novel but without reading, a better adrenalin rush and a greater reward!” Good one Pete! And those thoughts bring us to today’s lesson betting options in Roulette.
Straight Up: Your bet directly on any single number.
Split Bet: Place your bet on the line between any two numbers.
Trio Bet: Place your bet on the intersecting point between 0, 1 and 2, or 0, 2 and 3.
Street Bet: Place your bet at the end of any row of numbers, covering three numbers.
As always, good luck!

This edition we are looking at the history of Craps.
Without a doubt, Craps is the number one casino game in America.
It is estimated that 50 million Americans each year shoot craps (10 percent of those are women) and more money is bet on Craps than on any other game.
It is the favorite game of the American ‘high roller’ and exudes a ‘Vegas’ style glamour that few other games can match.
However, despite its grandiose image today, Craps had humble Louisiana beginnings. It developed from the 18th century British game of ‘Hazard’, a sophisticated dice affair that was popular with African riverboat slaves and it was they who gradually pruned back and simplified the rules until the 19th century Americans had a far more mathematically equal game.
The name Craps stuck to it for no other reason than that was what the New Orleans French called ‘Hazard’.
Throughout the 19th century, Craps spread, refining its image and regulating its rules and by the turn of the 20th century had become the country’s most prominent betting game.

“Hello Mike, this is Michelle M. from ‘down under’ in Australia. Right now, I really feel ‘down under’ as I always seem to be missing the Jackpots on your Slots, Video Poker and Caribbean Stud games! Last issue, you had SEVEN jackpots in one week! So, I know that this is a dumb question but when will it be me?!?!”
Well, Michelle, it’s not as dumb a question as you think. It’s actually a very good question.
Since Casino-on-Net introduced its 7 Progressive Jackpot games (5 Slots, 1 Video Poker and 1 Caribbean Stud) we have paid out MILLIONS$$$!
No matter what status the member is - from first time depositor to seasoned player - we have had winners. We have even paid out 5 jackpots in one day! Just visit our site to see how quick the winning name changes.
This brings me to the first element needed in any winning formula - 'Luck'.
In reality, we have no control over this element but by playing regularly and positively you can make your own luck!
And although we know how important luck is, we cannot enter a casino depending solely on it, which brings me to the next part of the formula - 'Skill'.
We must have some skills set aside in our back pockets, just in case luck fails, so keep reading our newsletter ‘Gambling School’ for great skills tips!
Finally, there is choosing where to play. A tough decision, as many factors such as a high payout ratio, great customer support, quick payments and, above all, using a legitimate and honest casino, come into it. But since we at Casino-on-Net have all these factors and more there is no better place to play and win!
So, Michelle, we don’t know when the next winner will be but we do know that there will be winners! And who knows, the next winner could be you!

Sandra from Wisconsin says: “Hi, Casino-on-Net! I have recently played Roulette on your website. I am not sure if it is obvious but if I place a chip on a number and it is slightly to one side it lays across two numbers and when I try to move it I cant, can you tell me how I can move my chip after I have placed it? Mike, I do hope you can help as I have lost a few good winnings when my number has come in and my chip was over two numbers.”
First of all, Sandra I am glad you are enjoying Roulette – and am also glad to see that some of your numbers have come in! Secondly the good news is that there is a way around this.

In previous editions we have touched on the basic bets in craps. Tom W from the UK writes: “You make it sound really easy but as a new player, the table is filled with so many different betting options”.
Tom, you are correct. The game of Craps averages 120 bets! The best thing, of course, is learning each individual bet. I can only cover a few but as you get comfortable with these bets, we advise that you expand your knowledge.
Today we start the lesson with a ‘Place Win’ bet.
Place Win Bets:
Placing Bets: May be made at any time and can be placed in the narrow, unlabeled bar located just under the box with the corresponding number on the craps table: “4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10”. You bet that 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 will be rolled before a 7.
Changing Bets: Place Win bets may be increased, decreased, or removed at anytime after or before the roll. Clicking the right mouse button on the bet will remove it. To call this bet OFF, you need to remove it.
Wins: If the selected number is rolled before a 7, the wager wins.
Loses: If a 7 is rolled, the wager loses.
Payoff: Place Win bets are paid according to the following ratios: 7 to 6 on numbers 6 and 8, 7 to 5 on numbers 5 and 9, and 9 to 5 on numbers 4 and 10.
Place Lose Bets:
Placing Bets: May be made at any time. It is placed in the right-hand side of the narrow, unlabeled bar located just above the box with the corresponding number on the craps table: “4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10”. You a bet that 7 will be rolled before 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10.
Changing Bets: Place Lose bets may be increased, decreased, or removed at anytime after or before the roll. Clicking the right mouse button on the bet will remove it. To call this bet OFF, you need to remove it
Wins: If a 7 is rolled before rolling the selected number, the wager wins.
Loses: If the selected number is rolled before a 7, the wager loses.
Payoff: Winning Place Lose bets are paid according to the following ratios: 4 to 5 on numbers 6 and 8, 5 to 8 on numbers 5 and 9, and 5 to 11 on numbers 4 and 10.
Buy bets are similar to Place Bets.
Placing Bets: A Buy bet is placed in the box (labeled “BUY”) corresponding to one of the numbers on the Craps table: “4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10”. You bet that one of the following numbers where your bet is placed, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 will be rolled before a 7.
Changing Bets: The wagers may be increased, decreased, or removed at anytime. Clicking the right mouse button on the bet will remove it. All Buy bets are not automatically Off (inactive) on the Come Out Roll. To call this bet OFF, you need to remove it.
Wins: If the selected number is rolled before a 7, the wager wins.
Loses: If a 7 is rolled, the wager loses.
Commission: 5% commission (vigorish) is charged on your bet.
Payoff: Buy bet winnings are paid at true odds: 6 to 5 on numbers 6 and 8, 3 to 2 on numbers 5 and 9, and 2 to 1 on numbers 4 and 10.
Lay bets are the opposite of Buy bets.
Placing Bets: A Lay bet is placed in the box (labeled “LAY”) corresponding to one of the numbers on the Craps table: “4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10”. You bet that 7 will be rolled before one of the following numbers where your bet is placed, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10.

Loses: The wager loses if the number on which a Lay Bet is wagered rolls before a 7 is rolled.
Commission: 5% commission (vigorish) is charged on your profit.
Payoff: The Lay bets are paid at true odds: 5 to 6 on numbers 6 and 8, 2 to 3 on numbers 5 and 9, and 1 to 2 on numbers 4 and 10. There are many more bets in Craps so this is only the icing on the cake. We will give you the time to let this sink in and in the future, we will give you some tips on winning in this fantastic game.

Today, we will, once again, touch briefly on an introduction to Craps as we have received many emails on how to play.
Mark F. from the USA writes: “I place bets. Sometimes I win, and sometimes I don’t. But the truth is I am just guessing.”
Well Mark, you are not alone. Many people enjoy the buzz of Craps and don’t really think about what each individual bet can do. Because the craps table has so many betting options, it’s hard for a new player to decipher what the outcome of the throw will have on the table.
In this edition, I will go over a few of the basic bets in Craps and continue with specialized bets in our next edition.
We start with the ‘Pass Line’:
This is the basic ‘Contract Bet’ meaning that it cannot be removed until the bet is resolved. This bet should also be placed for the ‘Come-Out Roll’.
The bet is placed in the ‘Pass Line’ section. If the roll is a 7 or 11, you win but you lose if 2, 3, or 12 come up. Once a ‘point’ is established (that is when the dice totals 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) the bet structure changes. You are now betting on that number being repeated before a 7 is rolled again.
'Don’t Pass' Bar:
This is the exact opposite of the ‘Pass Line’. It is usually referred to as the ‘Don’t Pass’. You will win on a 2, 3 or 12 (12 is called a ‘push’) and lose on 7 or 11. After the point is established, you will win on a 7.
'Come':
When you place this bet, you are betting on the very next throw. Like the ‘Pass Line’ you win on 7 or 11 and lose on 2, 3, or 12. The difference is that if none of these numbers are thrown then your bet is moved to whatever number appeared and you will then win the same way as the ‘Pass Line’: that is, if the number re-appears before the 7.
'Don’t Come' Bar:
This is last bet we will look at today. This bet is usually referred to as ‘Don’t Come’. It is the exact opposite of the ‘Come Bet’; meaning that you will win on 2, 3, or 12 and lose on 7 or 11. If none of the listed numbers are thrown, your bet will go against the number that appeared. You win if a 7 appears before that number.
With these basic bet tips you can enjoy the great game of Craps with the best winning chances possible!

As you may already know the New Casino-on-Net now boasts 15 exciting slot machines. This includes a range of progressive and non-progressive Jackpots – just ask our members who took a record $1,500,000 home recently!
Our Progressive Slot machines are designed to suit everyone’s pocket as bets range from a minimum of just 25 cents to $1 or 75 cents to $3, which is the maximum play needed on these machines to receive the jackpot.
For our non-progressive machines, we have many more ways to win!
Our ‘2 Times Wild’ will double your winnings if one symbol appears, and if two symbols appear your winnings will quadruple, whilst the ‘5 Times Wild’ gives you 5 times your winnings for 1 symbol and an incredible 25 times your winnings for 2! That’s 2,000 coins and this is not even the maximum payout!
As if this is not enough, ‘10 Times Wild’ can add up to 15,000 coins! Imagine wagering the maximum amount of $3 on this machine, that’s $30,000! Phew!
And there is no better time to play than now in our Spin City Relay Race series, which run a few times each month.

Stewart M writes: “I just downloaded your latest software and had my eyes on the $800,000 jackpot. I started to play but someone beat me to the jackpot. I wonder how close I was to being a Millionaire or if I was not doing something right.”
Stewart, unfortunately I cannot say if you would have missed the big Jackpot by 5 minutes or 5 hours as there are no secrets to winning at the slots. Actually, there are no secrets to winning at gambling but over the years strategies have been developed which have assisted many with a winning potion although no strategy is foolproof.
With this said, I must say that Slot machine play requires the least skill of any casino game. Offline gaming enthusiastically recommends that you locate the ‘loose’ machines and avoid the ‘tight’ machines. This is the main recommended strategy.
The good news is that at Casino-on-Net, we are not sending you on any wild goose chases, as all our 15 exciting slot machines are controlled by a Random Number Generator which decides the outcome of the reels. With the RNG it does not matter when a Jackpot was won, or how much money was previously paid out; any outcome can be repeated successively. It is unpredictable! So what’s my suggestion or strategy? Be prepared!
As most machines give an added incentive on the maximum payout if the maximum bet is placed, it is suggested that you play maximum, just think of how our jackpot winner would have felt if she had bet only $1.00.
I would like to end this lesson with a true story. I went to Atlantic City and was playing slot machines. I was mixing my wagers; that is 1 coin, then 2, then maximum. On one of the spins I got the three symbols that would automatically give a huge cash prize but it required 3 coins. I spent the rest of the morning trying to get those symbols again.
As always, good luck!

Barbara L. from the U.S. writes: “I think that Craps is a great game but I seem not to be able to control my bets… any advice Mike?”
Well Barbara I have done the following research, both practical and theoretical, and I have come up with these tips on Craps play. These tips have been developed over the years by some of the best Craps players and now I am happy to share them with you.
As Craps is such a fast paced and noisy game offline, many players get entangled in the excitement and don’t monitor just how much cash they place on the table. My first tip is to be aware of how much money you have in hand and on the table. Always remember that there is no need to place a bet just because you have the option to do so.
Bets, and there are so many variations on a Craps table, range from those with a stronger house advantage to those with a lesser advantage for the house. It pays to research the best odds in advance.
Therefore, my next tip is to start with easier bets like the ‘Pass Line’ bets and back them up with the ‘Odds’ bets. There are very low house advantages on these bets, (0% on odds bets) and although the payout is not the largest, your bankroll may add up significantly. As you become more comfortable, start placing more bets. But it’s prudent to have no more than three bets 'riding' at the same time.
Although ‘Proposition’ bets’ (or as I call them, ‘The Craps Teasers’) payouts are high, be aware that the odds of winning such combinations are not as high as bets with smaller payouts. Be sure to spread and vary your bets and you may improve your bankroll dramatically.
I hope that these tips will help you win more and have lasting fun at the great game of Craps.
As always, good luck!

This edition we’ll be looking at the famous old game of Baccarat.
Jason S of Canada writes: “Mike, I read your Gambling School quite often, and would love your opinion on Baccarat. Is this game solely based on luck or skill? It’s got to be luck! Why? Because I don’t understand the game and I only seem to win when I guess!”
Well Jason, believe it or not, all casino games do require a bit of knowledge and Baccarat is no exception. Of course, knowledge on its own cannot ensure that you win, what’s needed is a bit of luck, so you are half right and you have set the stage for this month’s topic of discussion: ‘Baccarat’.
This popular game is believed to have started in France back in the 1830s and is still around today. Like Jason, many of our players think that this game is only based on luck especially if they do not understand the basics.
So what are the basics?
You have three betting options: Player, Banker or Tie.
Your bet is to predict who will have the higher hand total or if both hands will end up being the same amount.
Every card that totals 10, or a combination of cards that totals 10, is equal to 0. For example 4 + 6 + 9 = 9 or 9 + 3 = 2
The Player and Banker will be dealt a maximum of three cards and a minimum of 2 cards.
In terms of the player, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are natural stands. All other two card combinations will receive a third card.
In terms of the banker, 7, 8 and 9 are natural stands. All other two card combinations will receive a third card.

The Strategy
As the house has a built-in edge where the banker is concerned, consider placing more bets on the banker.
Patterns are important when it comes to many casino games and Baccarat is no exception, so pay attention, especially when it comes to Tie bets.
Speaking of Ties, as this bet has the highest Payout on the table, the probability of it appearing is lowest of the other two bets, so bet sparingly.
As always, good luck!

Although Video Poker can be a very fast paced game, the skills required to master the game must be developed over time. Take me for example. Before I learned how rewarding this game could be, I would start off by slipping a $20 note into a Video Poker machine, be up $30, then before I knew it I would be hundreds down, glancing unhappily at other player’s machines that are thousands up. This was my costly lesson of learning that Video Poker Games require skills, risks and less ‘sure bets’.
What do I call a ‘sure bet’?
A pair of Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces. Always bear in mind that the easiest winning combinations in Video Poker have the lowest pay out and the highest probability of reoccurring.
How does this benefit you?
Yes, you do play longer but your bank roll growth rate is at a snail’s pace.
There is no fool-proof way to win but the best way to beat the house is to receive a royal flush with the maximum bet amount. And on your way to achieving this goal, always try to aim for the higher practical winning combinations. This can only be done by choosing your hold cards carefully.
What’s our suggestion?
Pat Hands Stand, e.g. a Full House on the first draw - Stand.
Four cards to a Royal Flush - Hold four, draw one.
Four cards to a straight flush - Hold four, draw one.
Three of a kind - Hold three, draw two cards.
Two pairs - Hold 4, draw one card.
A pair of Jacks or better - draw three cards but if you have any of the above combinations, do not break those hands.
Two cards to a royal flush with no combinations (that is three of a kind for example) - Draw three cards
These are just a few tips to get you ahead of the ‘Video Poker Relay Race’ and eventually the Royal Flush.
As always, good luck!
